You're probably wondering if Warren has ever sold anything in his life or if he's just an ivory tower "Here's what you should do" kind of guy. Warren has been successful in three separate careers.
Initially, he was involved in the wholesale hardware business where he took a territory that was in the lower echelon of the company and made it into a top five territory in a year and a half. After being promoted to a Regional Account Manager, he was able to duplicate the success in fourteen other territories with the sales people he then managed.
Warren then became a highly successful both as a sales person and a sales manager in the highly competitive office equipment business. Finally, before Warren started his own company in 1987, he spent some time in the commercial real estate business, where he became a multimillion dollar producer in his first year, and was named the top new associate for his entire company the first year that he entered the business.
Many people know that a lot of sales people are trained in what is called the "go get'em" model, and this model is one that sets most people up for failure. Based on this understanding, Warren created The Six Steps to Excellence in Selling model that is in use all over the United States, Canada, Sweden, Norway, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Africa and Egypt.
